I spent about 25 years as a software engineer, and I'm heading into retirement — which is really the reason this site exists. I wanted a place to slow down, write about what I'm learning, and stay connected to people along the way.

I was born in China and moved to the U.S. in my late twenties, so a lot of what I write sits at that intersection — old habits and new ones, two languages, two ways of thinking about a "worry-free" life.

These days you'll usually find me on a pickleball court (four years in now) or slowly figuring out American mahjong, which I only just picked up.
